Saved Search Viewer Custom Element Configuration

Saved Search Viewer Custom Element Configuration

The Saved Search Viewer allows you to display data from any Saved Search in your NetSuite environment within your user site.  If you need help creating a saved search you can read the NetSuite documentation here.
  1. Once you have defined a saved search in your Netsuite environment you will need to copy the search ID.  This can be found in the list of saved searches or if you navigate to the saved search and click Edit Criteria you can see the search ID.
NOTE - the saved search viewer will support both summary and non-summarized searches.

  2. Next drag the saved search viewer element into the portal editor

  3. Enter a title for this saved search.  This title will be displayed at the top of the element like a heading in the user site

  4. Enter the search ID from your saved search (this ID should start with 'customsearch')

  5. The results of the search will be displayed using the criteria you have defined in your NetSuite account.  However, you can filter the results dynamically based on the user who is logged in at the time by using the "Filter by entity?" setting.  This setting will get the Entity you have assigned to this user in the VERSITAL User setup and then filter the results by this record.
NOTE - you must provide the field ID on the record that represents this entity as well.  For example, on most transactions the "Customer" or "Vendor" field has an ID of "entity", but on a Custom Record you may have a custom field created (with ID of "custrecord_xxxxxx") to hold the entity value.

  6. If you would like to give users the ability to Export the data from the saved search click the Allow Export box.  This will always export the results as a CSV file.

  7. The next time you publish this portal the saved search will now be viewable to the user.
